Here’s another surprise for Meizu owners, in this tutorial we’ll show you how you can restore your Meizu Pro 6 smartphone after flashing failure. So, if it happens that your Meizu phone can’t be turned on, you can try the method below.

This tutorial will help you in the following cases: for example, if your tried to flash some beta ROM with FlashFire and get bootloop in result and now you can’t enter recovery mode. If you see “Red State Your device has failed verification and may not work properly your device will boot in 5 seconds” message when trying to turn on your phone.

Restore and fix hardbricked Meizu Pro 6

What’s required?

MRT Dongle

MRT Dongle software: mrt_1.98_fix.7z

Special firmware version: Meizu_Pro_6_MRT_Firmware.7z

Driver Auto Installer v1.352.00: Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.352.00.7z

Now after you’ve prepared everything what is required, we will continue with the following steps. Some users reporting that this method isn’t working on Windows 10 x64, in this case try to use Windows 7 version.

Disable drivers signature enforcement on your PC.

Download and install drivers using Driver Auto Installer.

Connect MRT Dongle to PC via USB 2.0. Most probably, it won’t work on USB 3.0.

Download mrt_1.98_fix.7z and open MRT_1.98.exe.

Click on “Meizu” tab in the top right corner and select your device model, “PRO 6” in this case.

You’ll see the following message: “Connect to Service Success”.

Select “Write Flash” in “Operation Options”, press “Open” and locate previously downloaded ROM. That’s “MT6797_Android_scatter.txt” file in “Meizu_Pro_6_MRT_Firmware” folder.

Now we press “Start” button. You should see “Searching Mobile Port…” message.

At this point you need to turn off your device, then press and hold “Volume Down” button and connect your phone to PC via USB cable at the same point, release the “Volume Down” button as soon as flashing process start. If the following method doesn’t work for you, you may try to boot into fastboot mode firstly by pressing “Volume Down” and “Power” buttons at the same time. Hold these two buttons for 8 seconds, and release them after your device boot into fastboot, then press “Volume Down” and “Power” buttons, release the “Power” button when the screen turns off and keep holding “Volume Down”. Flashing process should start.

Here’s another method, which doesn’t require you to use the MRT Dongle.

Download Write efuse v7.4.0 tool: Write+efuse+V7.4.0+Key+Mod+Meizu.7z

Now select Scatter File “MT6797_Android_scatter.txt” from the “Meizu_Pro_6_MRT_Firmware” folder.

Activate all check marks:

Press “Start All” and try different combinations of “Volume Down” and “Power” buttons similar to the method above.

Yes you’re reading it right as split screen is now available with MIUI 9 updates. To get to it you will have to follow the following steps:-

Tap the recent button.

The background running apps open.

At the top, there’s a new shade with “split screen mode” written.

Tap on it.

Drag the apps from the list of background running apps that you want on the split screen, and voila!

The apps which do not support split screen are marked with a clear badge.

MIUI9 Improved notification panel

A lot of work has been carried out on the notifications panel by the company. Here are some features that are added to the updated notification panel:-

Quick reply option has been made available at the drop down notification panel.

Notifications from each app are bundles so you will not get numerous notifications from one app.

Unimportant notifications are automatically filtered and muted.

Brand new image editor in MIUI9

MIUI9 inbuilt image editor

Yes, the inbuilt image editor went from ‘just useful’ to “whoa, amazing”. In the new update a brand new image editor has been added to the gallery app and getting used to this editor will need some repetitive usages. On learning how to use, users will be able to:-

Removing unwanted items from the images.

Adding interesting elements to the images.

Make use of better and updated filters.

Better beautification of pictures.

Improved home screen and lock screen

A lot of work has been put in here as a lot of engaging features has been added. Here are some of them:-

Vertical scrolling off widgets, similar to that of stock Android is made possible in the new update.

In order to be able to bet a bird’s eye view of the app drawer, a miniscule view of all the pages is available.

Previously messy settings panel has become more compact with improved settings management and navigation.

The default launcher can now be customised.

The flash button has been added to the lock screen, which undeniably is really useful.

Also, all the connected devices can be seen on the lock screen itself.

Mi Drop

Mi drop is a file transfer feature and is amazingly useful to transfer files of any type. This is one of the best-underrated features due to the fact that it could only be found once, one checked through the underlying utilities.

This, however, is changed in the new MIUI 9 update, the Mi Drop has been brought to the frontier, with a spot on the home screen itself.

Hello, yesterday I was trying to install android emulators on my PC. After trying a few popular emulators, I decided to try VirtualBox software. While trying installing to install a few different Android-x86 roms and I’ve actually faced with some problems and then solved them successfully. So in this article I would like to share my experience installing and creating virtual machine with CyanogenMod 13.0 Android-x86 6.0.1 on VirtualBox. Installing Android on VirtualBox is a great way to test and experiment with a fully working Android system. It gives you much more possibilities than just playing some simple android games on emulators.

In this detailed guide I’m going to show you how to install Android 6.0.1 CyanogenMod 13 on VirtualBox. You’ll need to download CM 13 Android-x86 image file and have VirtualBox installed. I was using latest version of VirtualBox 5.1.12 r112440 (Qt5.6.2).

Also I have to enable Virtualization Technology (VTx) and Virtualization Technology Directed I/O (VTd) to install and run CM13 Android on my PC. You can also find most common issues and fixes related to installing Android-x86 on VirtualBox in the bottom of this post.

Installing Android-x86 on VirtualBox Emulator

Creating Virtual Machine for Android-x86

First you need to download CyanogenMod 13 Android x86 image.

Run VirtualBox and start creating new virtual machine by pressing “New”.

Now enter name for your virtual machine and select “Linux” and “Other Linux (64-bit)” and press “Next”.

Create new virtual machine and select “Linux” and “Other Linux (64-bit)”

Now select amount of RAM to be allocated to your Android x86 virtual machine. In my case of installing this exact CM 13 image I have to select 4096 MB of RAM. Update: It’s possible to select smaller amounts of RAM. It’s working good with 512 MB or 1024 MB memory size.

“This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU” – Android-x86 on VirtualBox

Error: This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot – please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

Solution: In case of this message, make sure you’ve selected Other Linux (64-bit) version and have dedicated enough RAM memory for virtual machine. You can also try different RAM settings and make dedicated RAM amount bigger or smaller. (Settings > System > Motherboard).

Enable VT-x / AMD-V hardware acceleration – Android-x86 on VirtualBox

Error: “VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system” or “Failed to open a session for the virtual machine”

Solution: You need to enable VT-d and VT-x technology in BIOS.

Restart your PC and boot in BIOS. Depend on your system press “F2”, “DEL” or “F12” to enter BIOS menu.
