Enable Android Pay on Xiaomi Mi Note 3

Let’s start with the method which should work on every ROM version:

1. Download the latest “Magisk – The Universal Systemless Interface“.
2. Download the following patch universal-safetynet-fix-v2-beta-5.zip and copy the archive together with previously downloaded Magisk app to phone internal memory root. Pay attention! In case you’re installing Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU, then you’ll need to extract boot.img file from your ROM and copy it to phone internal memory root as well.
3. Flash required ROM. If it comes without inbuilt root, skip the next step and go straight to the step 5. If you’re installing a Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU root, proceed to the step 4.
4. Let your device to startup for the first time and remove SuperSU, next boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and flash boot.img as a boot partition, so that later Magisk could patch it the right way.
5. Install Magisk-v14.0.zip via TWRP Custom Recovery, reboot into system, then reboot into TWRP once again and flash safetynet module this time.
6. Reboot into system.
7. Open Magisk Manager, go to “Modules” and check if “universalsafetynet” is enabled. Next check the “safetynet” status.
8. If everything was done correctly, then Android Pay should work perfectly fine right now. Don’t forget to visit additional settings and check if HCE security is enabled.
9. After you’ve installed any bank or payment application don’t forget to hide root and enable “MagiskHide” option for these apps.

How to fix not working Android Pay on Mi Note 3 Stock ROM

Here’s a method on how you can activate Android Pay straight out the box on both Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi Note 3 with stock MIUI9 ROM installed.

To make Android Pay work, try following the steps below:

1. Delete your card from Android Pay.
2. Clean all passwords.
3. Reboot your device.
4. Attach your credit card to Android Pay once again.
5. Setup new passwords for everything.
6. Change “HSE Wallet” to any other option, and then return back to “HSE”.
7. Add Android Pay application for auto-start.

How to fix Android Pay on Mi Note 3 Custom ROM

It’s recommended to do this right after you’ve installed the Custom ROM.

1. Boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and flash Magisk-v14.0.zip
2. Reboot into system.
3. Update MagiskManager to the latest version.
4. Reboot into recovery and install universal-safetynet-fix-v1.10.1.zip.
5. Reboot into system and go to “MagiskManager“.
6. Check “safetynet”, you should see two green arrow icons.
7. Install Android Pay and proceed with registration.
8. Add you credit card.
9. That’s it. Android Pay should work fine right now.

How to fix Android Pay on Xiaomi phone

This method should probably work on many of the devices, including Mi 5, Mi 5s, Redmi Mi Max, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4 etc… But attention, that author of this tutorial does not guarantee that this method works 100% and we’re not responsible for any possible issues. Please take care and make all required backups!

1. Download Magisk Manager.
2. Install this fix via TWRP: Magisk12.0_Hide_fixed.zip
3. Boot into system and run Magisk Manager.
   • Enable “Magisk Hide” in the settings.
   • On “Magisk Hide” screen select and enable required apps.
   • Install Xiaomi Safetynet Fix 1.9.1 module, or use TWRP Custom Recovery: xiaomi-safetynet-fix-v1.9.1.zip
4. Reboot into system.
5. Run “Magisk Manager” and check “Safety Net”.
   • If verification goes wrong, check for updated fix here.
6. Go to MIUI settings: Open “Settings” > “Additional” > “NFC” > Enable “HCE wallet”.
7. Android Pay should be working now.

Install Android Pay on Xiaomi with Custom ROM (Lineage & Resurrection Remix)

This tutorial was tested on Mi5 and Mi5s Plus devices with Lineage OS or RR custom ROM installed.

1. Open Google Play and download Magisk Manager.
2. Open Magisk Manager > click on the top red cross icon, tap “Download and install” > “Install” > “Reboot”.
3. Install “Android Pay”.
4. Open “Magisk Manager” (you should see two green arrows at this point). Open settings, find and enable “Magisk Hide” option. Exit settings and tap on the third grey icon, if it turns to green, that means everything was done correctly. You can now open Android Pay and add cards, everything should work fine now.

If case you’ve stuck with some issues, you may want to try this solution:

• If you can’t install Magisk using the Google Play or .apk file, then try flashing this .zip archive via TWRP Custom Recovery: Magisk-v12.0.zip
• In case you’ve successfully installed Magisk, but SafetyNet is still couldn’t be enabled or Android Pay is still not working, then try installing this fix via TWRP: xiaomi-safetynet-fix-v1.8.1.zip
• If something goes wrong and you want to uninstall Magisk from your device completely, then download and install Magisk uninstaller patch via TWRP.

Pay attention, that after updating your custom ROM to a newest version, Magisk will be deleted, so you’ll need to repeat the same steps again to make Android Pay available to work. Also you can install the Magisk-v12.0.zip right after updating your current ROM.
