Download and install DualBootPatcher on Galaxy S6 Edge and Xiaomi Mi5S

What’s required?

• Download DualBootPatcher | Official Website
• DualBootUtilites: DualBootUtilities-9.1.0.r191.g3ee92131.zip (This is required in case something goes wrong and in result you can’t boot into system. By using the following tool you’ll be able to boot into recovery mode and than start your phone with working ROM.)

1. Download and install DualBootPatcher apk.
2. Open DualBootPatcher and swipe left corner to open the menu.
3. Confirm kernel installation and enable root.
4. Open menu again and select “Patch zip file”.
5. Select the required ROM file.
6. Now select “Data” partition and enter ID (use any combination of symbols and numbers).
7. Select the place to save the modified ROM and now you’ve got it pached for multiboot.
8. Press the icon on the right upper corner and patching process will start.
9. After patching is completed reboot into TWRP Custom Recovery.
10. Press “Install” and select previously modified .zip file.
11. Proceed with installation and confirm with clean install.
12. After flashing is completed, press “reboot system”.
13. Your phone will start in the newly installed ROM.
14. Now install DualBootPatcher again and go to “ROMs”.
15. All you need to do now, is to select the required ROM and reboot.
16. That’s it! You can also create a desktop short-cut for each ROM you’ve got installed on your device, so you can easily change between ROMs.

How to install two different ROMs on Redmi 4X (santoni)

1. Download and install DualBootPatcher.
2. Download any Custom ROM version you want to flash.
3. Open DualBootPatcher and give this app root permissions, also confirm kernel modifications.
4. Patch currently installed ROM (don’t forget to select the right device).
5. In “ROMs” menu select patched ROM.
6. After successful flashing reboot your phone.

Here’s a very simple guide on how to patch Dual Boot rom on your Redmi Note 2 device. I’m making this guide using Dual Boot Patcher 8.0.0.r2709.g554d8f9-SNAPSHOT.

Remember that you do everything at your own risk!

Dual Boot Patch install steps:

1. Download rom (link below)
2. Run DualBootPatcher
3. Select “Patch zip file”
4. Select the patch rom file. Make sure you turn on “Documents” application. It is at the end of the list. Just in case, it may be disabled
5. Select device and partition configuration. Important: If you have selected a memory card, there will be created an .img file (it takes around 15-20 minutes, quite a lot actually)
6. Put a partition name (this name will be shown later in the main menu)
7. Choose a file name for the Dual Boot patch file (usually it is setup automatically “firmware slot-slot-name”)
8. Prepare the patch rom
9. Now go to the “Roms”
10. Click “+”, then again “+” and select the the patched rom. Then change the location for the rom or leave the slot as is.
11. Wait for the process to complete. In the end you’ll see “1/1”. This mean that installation is successfully completed. If the patcher is flashed with a different kernel, there will be “Setting kernel” message.
12. Next (if everything is successful), you will see the patch image and its characteristics (Android version and build name).
13. Restart and wait for the first startup.

Downgrade or flash if you have no root, but have TWRP:

Here’s how you return your device to previous rom version. TWRP 3.0.2 by Jemmini.

1. Download Dual Boot (Utilities) and save them to anywhere.
2. When you first start the recovery will ask you to edit system partition – “Keep System Read only?”. On the “Unmodified System Partition” screen, select “Never show this screen during boot again.” and swipe to allow.
3. Enter Setup section and select “Install”
4. Look for and select the utilities file DualBootUtilities-8.0.0.r2709.g554d8f9.zip
5. Aroma Installer will be launched
6. Device information will be displayed, click “Next”
7. Select your main rom.
8. Press”Switch to”
9. In the log you should see “Exit code: 0”, press “Next”
10. Press “Finish”
11. “Reboot” and wait while rom loads.
