Install Google Applications on MIUI China Developer and Stable ROMs

Required Apps

Before starting the installation procedure, make sure you download and install Google Installer. Here you can find a link to the download files: GoogleInstaller_3.0.apk

Installation Procedure

1. First, install the Google installer apk file on your Android device.
2. Click the blue symbol to continue.
3. Now Google apps will begin downloading one by one.
4. After every downloaded app, the device will ask you if you want to install it. Once you confirm it, it will continue downloading the next app. 6 apps will be installed in total:
   1. Google Play Store
   2. Google Play Services
   3. Google Services Framework
   4. Google Account Manager
   5. Google Calendar Sync
   6. Google Contact Sync
5. Once the installation of all these apps finishes, go to Settings > Installed Apps.
6. Locate all the apps one by one, and clear the data and cache for each one.
7. Now, reboot your device and sign in to Google.
8. Next, update Google Play Services.

Now you can enjoy Google Play Store on your MIUI ROM.

Note: If you are using mobile data when downloading the apps, you must enable its use before starting the installation procedure. Here is how to do that:

1. Go to the Downloads app > Settings.
2. Make sure you set the downloading using mobile data to unlimited. (it is restricted by default).
3. Now, you can start the installation procedure.
4. Allow the permission to google contact sync app when requested and reboot your device.

Enable the English Language

Aside from the default Chinese language, China developer ROM also contains the English language. There is some Chinese stuff that we can avoid and deactivate.

1. While the Music player on China developer ROM is in English, we get Chinese online content while using it. Here is how can you disable it.
   1. Open the Music app.
   2. Go to My account.
   3. Tap on the settings icon (in the top left corner).
   4. Go to last and disable Online Content Services.
2. In the MI video app is the same. The interface of the app is in English. Only the content is in Chinese, and here is how can you disable it.
   1. Open the Video app.
   2. Go to My account on the bottom right side.
   3. Navigate to Settings.
   4. Disable Online Content Services.
3. Theme Manager will also be in Chinese Language. To change it to English follow these instructions.

Note: Before starting, make sure you have a rooted device. These steps work only on rooted devices.

1. Launch build.prop on your device. (if you don’t have it installed, you can get it from Playstore).
2. Write the following lines in build.prop.
   
   • ro.miui.region=IN
   • ro.miui.cust_variant=en
   • OR flash the attached zip file through the Custom Recovery (like TWRP).
3. Now, clear the data of Theme Manager and reboot your device.

Tutorial on how to root Meizu Pro 6/6S and flash Google Apps

Enable Root on Meizu Pro 6 though Flyme account

1. Download and install Terminal Emulator from Play Market.
2. Now download two required patches copy these to phone internal memory:
   • pro.sh
   • pro1.sh
3. Now start Terminal Emulator and type the following commands:

   su
   sush /sdcard/pro.sh
   sh /sdcard/pro1.sh

4. Reboot

How to enable root on Android 7.1.1 version

1. Set “System privileges” to “Open”.
2. Install SuperSU 2.79 apk file, update the binary file and press “OK!”. Do not reboot your device at this step, otherwise you’ll get bootloop!
3. Enter SuperSU, “grant” access for root.
4. Download and install “BusyBox” and “Mobile Odin / Flash Fire”
5. After you’ve installed all the tools above, you’ll need to install the same SuperSU version for recovery via Flash Fire.
6. Reboot your phone and enjoy root.

How to root “A” and “Beta” firmware versions?

1. Sign in into your Flyme account.
2. Then go to “Security” menu (could be also named as “Fingerprint and security”).
3. Then tap on “Root permissions” and confirm root access.

Binary file in superSU isn’t updating

Here’s a solution in case you’ve got an error while trying to update the superSU binary file:

1. Delete currently install SuperSU version from your phone.
2. Download the same ROM version which you have right now on your phone.
3. Now reinstall ROM without any wipes.
4. Reboot your phone, go to “Settings” > “Security” > “Root” > “Enable”.
5. After your phone reboot, go straight to Google Play and install SuperSu.
6. Start SuperSU, confirm binary file update, enable root access for it and select “Normal/TWRP”, wait until  installation is completed.

How to install Opengapps on Meizu Pro 6

This method works with a fresh ROM installation.

1. Enable root with Flyme account.
2. Install SuperSU 2.79.
3. Download and install BusyBox.
4. Install FlashFire Pro 0.55.1.
5. Download the latest version on Gapps from OpenGapps. You’ll need the following OpenGAPPS version: ARM64, 6.0, Pico. Copy downloaded archive with Gapps to phone root memory.
6. Open FlashFire and give root access to it. In FlashFire press “Flash ZIP via OTA” > Select open_gapps .zip archive > Continue to flashing.
7. After flashing is completed, the phone will automatically reboots.

How to delete Google Apps on Xiaomi Redmi 4X without root

First method (will work for other apps as well):

1. Download QuickShortcutMaker from Google Play, open it and go to “Settings”.
2. Select “All applications”, rename and press “Create”.
3. The new shortcut will be created on the main screen. Tap on it, select the apps you want to disable.

Second method:

1. Download Manage Applications Shortcut application from Play Store.
2. Open it and select apps you want to disable.

Install Google Play and Google Market on Redmi Note 5A with China MIUI ROM

Just in case – don’t forget to backup your data before doing any manipulations with your phone! Only you responsible for any possible issues.

1. Download Google Services archive to your device: Mi6-Google-Play.zip (this was made for Xiaomi Mi6 phone, but will also work fine on Redmi Note 5A as well).
2. Unpack download archive on your phone.
3. Open file explorer application on your phone and go to unpacked Mi6-Google-Play folder. Then open the “AllBackup” folder, inside you’ll see “Mi6” folder, use “Cut” tool on it and move to “miui > backup > AllBackup”.
4. Now go to “Settings” > “Advanced settings” > “Restore and reset” > “Local backups”. You should see the available backup here. Tap on it to start recovery.
5. After the backup has been restored Google Play icon should appear on your screen.
6. That’s it! No need to use TWRP or install Global ROM.

If this method doesn’t work for you, then try to use the Google Installer 3.0, simply download the .apk archive below and install like a usual application: GoogleInstaller_3.0.apk

6. A window with a list of applications should open. Select the app you would like to turn off and click on it.

8. Congratulations! You’ve successfully disabled it! Now you can go back to the list of the apps, and repeat the same steps to disable other application. Also it’s possible to enable them again.

How to install GAPPS and fix Contacts Sync Bug on Xiaomi Mi6

This tutorial is for China Stable MIUI ROM.

1. If you’ve failed previously with GAPPS installation on Xiaomi Mi6, then reset your device by going to “Settings” > “Additional settings” > “Backup” > “Reset” > “Factory reset”. This will delete all data from your device! Since before installing GAPPS the right way, you must first remove all previous installation data.

3. After you’ve successfully installed on Google applications and rebooted your device. Go to “Settings” > “Installed apps” > find “Contacts storage”, tap on it and delete application data.

In case of issues after installing Gapps, you can try this solution:

1. Enter settings;
2. Installer apps;
3. Find these three apps and clear cache on them: Google Play Market, Google Services Framework, Services Google Play. Open app and press “Clear data”, then “Clear cache”. Repeat for each app. In “Services Google Play” you’ll see “Margin Space” button, click on it and in the bottom find delete all button.
4. Next we need to reset auto synchronization: Go to “Settings” > “Other accounts” > “Google” > Select your account and disable everything, then reboot your device.
5. Again go to the “Settings” > “Other accounts” > “Google” > Select your account and enable everything, then find and tap on “More” > “Sync now” and reboot your device.
6. Check if Play Market working.

1. Open “Mi App Store” Chinese market;
2. Search for “google”;
3. Tap on the blue/green button;
4. Press “Install”;
5. Open installed app and accept with everything;
6. You should have Google Play Market installed now.

The most simple way to install Google applications on Mi5 Chinese Official ROM is to use Google Installer 2.0: Google+Installer_2.0.apk (167.9 Kb)

Another method is to install Gapps from OpenGapps website. This is similar to Mi5S device. Select ARM64, Android 6.0 or Android 7.1 (depends on installed ROM) and for “Variant” select Pico;

Flash custom ROM and install Gapps in TWRP follow these steps:

1. Download the required pack from OpenGapps
2. In TWRP flash any custom ROM you want and then without (!!!) reboot (that’s very important) flash downloaded .zip file with Gapps
3. After flashing GApps reboot your device.

And lastly another method that’s seems pretty easy:

1. Download GApps for manual installation from this link: GAPPs+manual+6.0.zip (44.2 Mb)
2. Extract .zip folder and copy all apps to your phone.
3. Install them one by one in the right order. Some should take around 5-10 minutes. If you’ve got any error messages, just skip them, they’re not critical.
4. Don’t forget do enable security settings for these apps.

Here’s the very easy method on how to install Google Play Store on Mi 8 or Mi 8 SE device and also fix the contacts synchronization from Google Contacts Sync. Download the following archive with Google Installer apk and install it on your phone: Google-Installer+for+Mi8.zip

Enable the installation from unknown sources. After the installation completed you’ll need to have all required permissions enabled. Find and tap on “Security App” > “Manage” > “Permissions” > “Google Contacts Sync” > enable everything. That’s pretty much it.

How to install GApps on China Stable Redmi 4

1. Download Platform-tools (adb/fastboot), create new folder on your PC and extract files there.
2. Download TWRP_prada.zip and extract it to “adb/fastboot” folder with other files.
3. Start your Redmi 4 device in fastboot mode (turn off > hold power button + volume down > after short vibration signal release the power button and wait for logo to appear).
4. Connect your device to PC via USB cable.
5. Find “boot_twrp_prada.bat” in the adb/fastboot folder and run this .bat file.
6. Wait for TWRP to start. Note! TWRP won’t be installed, it will just be launched for a single time. Allow modifications for “System” partitions in TWRP.
7. Download GApps for Redmi 4. Extract and move to phone memory (in TWRP folder for example, so you can find it easily).
8. Disconnect your device from PC.
9. “Reboot” and then “Bootloader”
10. Select “Do not disable”
11. Now connect your smartphone to PC again.
12. In “adb/fastboot” folder find & run “boot_twrp_prada.bat“, wait for TWRP to start and disconnect smartphone from PC. Note! TWRP won’t be installed, it will just be launched for a single time. Allow modifications for “System” partitions in TWRP.
13. Press “Install” – Select GApps archive. Don’t forget to select “Reboot after flashing” option.
14. Wait until the process is completed.
15. Congratulations! You can now use GApps on your Redmi 4!
