The MIUI V9.2.3.0 comes with the set of new icons and simplified UI.

What really pleased me is that now unread Gmail messages are displayed with all additional information including message subject. This feature was missing in 9.1.1.0 ROM version and I’m very happy that it’s back it the 9.2.3.0. As for battery life I didn’t yet noticed is it better than it was on the previous version. There was many complaints about battery life on 9.1.1.0, so share your thoughts in the comment below. What do you think, did the new version bring any improvements?

The 9.2.3.0 MIUI ROM also includes few new applications. These are “Mi Video” and “Mi Mover” applications. The “Mi Video”, as one can understand from the title, is an video viewing application and “Mi Mover” is a very convenient backup tool.

There are a lot of bug-fixes and performance optimization, especially regarding MIUI themes. You can check the full list of changes in the official change-log.

]]> To continue our series of Mi Max 2 tutorials, here’s a method on how you can install flash your phone to MIUI Global Stable ROM from China ROM without unlocking the bootloader.

Install Global Stable ROM on Mi Max 2 with locked bootloader

  1. Fully charge your phone to 100%.
  2. Use “Updater” application to update your device to latest China ROM version via OTA.
  3. Enable “Developer options” (browse our website for tutorial on how to do this).
  4. Enable “USB-debugging”.
  5. Download latest Global Stable ROM for Mi Max 2 on your PC.
  6. Install Chinese version of Mi PC Suite and update it to the latest version if possible.
  7. Now we’ll install the Global Stable ROM.
  8. Start with booting your phone into recovery mode. Turn it off, then press “Volume Up” and “Power” buttons at the same time, wait until Mi logo appear on the screen and release the “Power” button, keep holding “Volume Up” until recovery menu shows on the screen.
  9. Select “Connect with Miassistant”. You should see instructions on the screen.
  10. Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.
  11. In Mi PC Suite a window with 3 buttons should appear, press the first top button and locate Global ROM archive on your PC. Wait until flashing process is completed and your device automatically reboots into system.

In case your phone stuck at Mi logo and doesn’t boot into system, press “Volume Up” and “Power” buttons until Mi logo shows on the screen, release the “Power” button and wait for recovery menu to appear on the screen. Select “Connect with Miassistant” once again and connect your phone to PC. In Mi PC Suite select the second button and confirm by pressing the button with orange symbols. This will wipe and factory reset your device. After you can try to repeat the steps above again.

Important tips for Flashing

  • In order to install a new MIUI on your phone from scratch, flash your device with the Fastboot ROM. Keep in mind that all your data will be lost in the process, as this a clean install.
  • If you’re simply in the mood to update, and don’t want to go through the cumbersome process of a clean install, flash your device with Recovery ROM.

Please, pay attention, that you’re doing everything at your own risk!

  1. Unlock the bootloader.
  2. Download latest fastboot ROM for Redmi Note 5A (you can find download links in the bottom of this post or visit official MIUI website).
  3. Use WinRar to unpack downloaded ROM to “C:\ROM_NAME”.
  4. Start your phone in fastboot mode by pressing “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons together. Then connect your phone to PC via USB 2.0.
  5. Start MiFlash tool.
  6. Press “Select” and locate the ROM folder on “C:\” drive.
  7. Select “clean all” option.
  8. Press “refresh” and then “flash” button to start installation.
  9. After installation is completed you phone will reboot.

]]> Hello, my dear friends! Here’s a short step-by-step tutorial on how you can update your Redmi 4 Prime with China Stable ROM installed to Global ROM using the MiFlash tool and EDL (download) mode.

How to Flash Global ROM on Redmi 4 Prime with China Stable using MiFlash & EDL

  1. Download and install QDLoader HS-USB Driver (32/64-bit) and ADB Driver Lite (32/64-bit).
  2. Boot your Redmi 4 Prime in EDL (download mode). Check this post for the full tutorial.
  3. Make sure you have a correctly installed Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 drivers.
  4. Download and start MiFlash tool.
  5. Select the “/images” folder.
  6. In MiFlash select “ClearAll”.
  7. Now press “Refresh” (you should have Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in device manager).
  8. Press “Flash” button.

Wait until installation process is completed. Now wait a little bit more and then disconnect your phone from PC. Turn on your phone by holding “Power” button for half minute. Your device should start with Global ROM.

Here you’ll find a download link for unofficial Global ROM for Mi6 smartphone. We haven’t tested it yet, so we can’t provide any feedback about it. This unofficial ROM is based on China Stable MIUI 8.2.22.

Here’s another small update. There has been a release of MIUI 8.3 7.5.25 ROM for Mi6 device. As far as we understand this version is much stable then the Unofficial Global ROM we’ve discovered previously. You can find more information and download this version here.

How to update Mi6 fake MIUI ROM 8.2.0.2 to Beta Global ROM

Here’s a small update for all of those who are waiting for Xiaomi Mi6 Official Global ROM. There’s been a release of Global stable Beta 7.6.1 ROM. But pay attention, that this ROM version was removed from official MIUI website, probably because of some issues. Be careful with this ROM. Difference between MIUI Roms

English / Chinese Stable / China Stable: Official MIUI ROM focused for China, with various applications and services relevant only for China. This version receives regular OTA updates.

Global Stable ROM: Multilingual ROM version, relevant for users outside of China. This ROM comes with inbuilt Google Apps. OTA updates are also included. In comparison to China Stable, volume is decreased on Global Stable.

China Developer ROM: China Developer ROM is the most current and innovative ROM version, as it receives all the innovations and new features first. This ROM is official and released by Xiaomi itself. First of all it is created for advanced users to test new and upcoming features.

Global Developer: Pretty much similar to the China Developer ROM, but has more languages available.
