How to install LineageOS 15 Android 8 on Xiaomi Mi4i

1. Download Firmware 8.1.5: firmware-lp-8.1.5.0.zip
2. Download the latest ROM version from here.
3. Download Gapps for Android 8.
4. Reboot into TWRP Custom Recovery.
5. Wipe “Cache”, “Dalvik Cache”, “System” and “Data” partitions.
6. Go to “Mount” folder and remove the checkmark against “System” partition.
7. Next go to “Install zip” and flash the firmware first.
8. Next install the downloaded ROM.
9. Proceed to installing Gapps.
10. And now reboot into system!

Known issues of this version:

• HotSpot is not working.
• SeLinux Permissive not working.
• Probably some issues with MTP.

How to flash Flyme OS on Redmi Note 2

1. To install Flyme OS, you’ll need to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP Custom Recovery on your phone.
2. Next boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and go to “Wipe” menu. Wipe “Cache”, “Dalvik Cache”, “System” and “Data” partitions. It’s also recommended to remove all system folders from external SD card.
3. Go to “Install” menu and flash latest Flyme OS ROM.
4. Reboot in system.

Mokee 6.0 for Redmi 4A

Seems like Mokee ROM is a little bit faster than MIUI, battery life is great and everything works, except double tap unlock feature (possibly will be added in newer versions).

Here you can read the full guide on how to install LineageOS 14.1 on your Mi5s device. This was written for previous version, but also works fine with this one.

Short review Lineage OS 14.1 (OS 7.1.1)

This is a pretty stable release. While testing we didn’t experienced any restarts, random turn offs or hard lags. Fingerprint scanner is working well. Also this ROM is pretty clean. Battery life is a big plus and you’ve got a lot of energy saving and performance settings to adjust. Both sim cards are working fine, 4G, 3G and 2G networks working fine.

MTK transfer to PC is working fine, including USB 3.0. Wi-Fi hotspot is also working fine.

And here’s a few disappointments: no additional themes included (probably will be added in future versions). In “Accounts” menu only Google & Email account are shown.

In conclusion this is a very stable ROM that can be used as your everyday firmware and if compared to MIUI there are many pros.
