Download and install Xposed for Xiaomi Mi 4c

First things you must pay attention to:

  • You should have unlocked bootloader + TWRP Custom Recovery + Root on your Mi4c device.
  • Downloaded Xposed for MIUI: Download
  • Downloaded Xposed Installer 3.0: XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk

Now as for the installation proccess:

  1. Download Xposed for MIUI .zip archive.
  2. Copy downloaded archive to phone internal memory.
  3. Reboot your device in custom recovery mode and install downloaded Xposed archive. You can also go back to main menu and wipe “Cache, Dalvik Cache”.
  4. Reboot into system and install Xposed Installer 3.0, as a usual apk file.
  5. Launch Xposed Installer 3.0, select the “Framework” tab to check if Xposed was installed correctly. You should see a green message on the top. Now you can proceed with downloading additional modules.

If you need to delete Xposed from your device, download and flash Xposed Uninstaller: xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip

]]> Here’s another tutorial for Xiaomi Mi4c owners. In this post we are going to show you how to flash TWRP Custom Recovery and then root Mi 4c phone. Please pay attention, that you’re doing everything at your own risk and author is not responsible for any possible issues with your device.

Please pay attention that on official China ROMs, both developer (starting from 6.1.14) and Stable China ROM (starting from 7.2.1.0), Xiaomi has locked the bootloader and removed the root option. On Official Stable Android 5.1 ROM (starting from 7.2.1.0) you can’t get root. If you try installing SuperSU, you’ll most probably get a bootloop. You can freely install SuperSU and enable root on Stable Android 7.1 Nougat ROMs.

Install TWRP Custom Recovery and get rooted Xiaomi Mi 4c

How to flash TWRP Custom Recovery on Xiaomi Mi4c

  1. Boot your Mi 4c device into fastboot mode. Turn off your phone, press “Power” button and “Volume Down” until fastboot logo appears on the screen.
  2. Download the TWRP archive for Mi4c.
  3. Unpack the downloaded archive.
  4. Connect your device to PC via USB cable.
  5. Open command prompt as administrator and run “recovery.bat” file.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen by simply pressing “Enter” button on a keyboard.
  7. Once the installation is completed, close the command prompt.
  8. You device should boot into TWRP Custom Recovery mode.
  9. On some device, touch mode could be a little bit lagged, simply wait around 1-3 minutes, it should start working after some time.

How to Root Xiaomi Mi 4c

Root Mi4c with a Stable ROM:

  1. You must have TWRP Custom Recovery installed!
  2. Download the archive with SuperSU.
  3. Copy downloaded archive to phone internal memory.
  4. Boot into recovery mode.
  5. Click “Install” and select SuperSU archive.
  6. Confirm with swipe.
  7. Reboot into system.
  8. Done!

Root Mi4c with a Developer ROM:

  1. Locate the “Security” app.
  2. Go to “Authorization”.
  3. Select ROOT.
  4. In the list of application, chose the one’s you want to enable root access.

Flash Custom ROM on Xiaomi Mi 4c using TWRP Custom Recovery

  1. Copy downloaded archive with Custom ROM to the phone’s memory.
  2. Install TWRP Custom Recovery.
  3. Boot your phone in recovery mode: press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” buttons at the same time.
  4. Backup your current system.
  5. Go to “Wipe” menu and do a factory reset.
  6. Reboot into recovery.
  7. Press “Install” and select downloaded ROM archive.
  8. Once ROM installation is finished, go to “Wipe” menu again and wipe “Cache/Dalvik Cache”.
  9. Optionally, go back to “Install” and flash GAPPS archive.
  10. Reboot into system.
  11. First startup will take around 10 minutes.
  12. Done!
