How to flash Custom ROM on Mi Note 3 (Jason)?

1. Reboot into TWRP Custom Recovery.
2. Go to “Wipe” > “Advanced Wipe” and select everything except “Internal Storage”, then swipe to confirm wipe. This will lead to factory reset and complete data removal, so don’t forget about backups! After you’ve boot into freshly installed ROM go to “MIUI” folder in phone internal memory and delete all related MIUI files and previously made backups. You can copy these files to another storage if you’re planning to rollback to previous system.
3. Get back to TWRP main menu.
4. Download the Custom ROM you want to flash and Google Apps (Select ARM64), start your phone in custom recovery mode and connect to PC. Move downloaded ROM to phone internal memory.
5. In TWRP select “Install”, locate downloaded ROM archive, press “add more zips” and add Gapps archive. Swipe to confirm flashing.
6. After installation is completed, press “Reboot system” and wait until your phone reboots. First startup may take around 15-20 minutes.

How to install TWRP Custom Recovery on Xiaomi Mi Note 3

1. Download and unpack ADB fastboot tools to “C:\adb”.
2. Download TWRP Recovery and copy downloaded TWRP .img file to the same folder with ADB fastboot files.
3. Turn your phone in fastboot mode. Turn it off and press “Volume Down” and “Power” buttons at the same time until you see fastboot logo appear on the screen.

How to update Mi Note 3 Official MIUI ROM with Updater App

In case you didn’t received the automatic update yet, but you desperately need to install the latest version upon it’s release, here’s a very simple instruction on how to do this:

1. Download the updated ROM version from official MIUI website.
2. Move downloaded ROM to “downloaded_rom” folder in phone internal memory. Create the folder manually if you don’t have one.
3. Open “Updater” application and tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
4. Tap on “Choose update package” and locate the previously downloaded ROM.
5. Installation process will start automatically.

By using this method you can also flash Weekly Developer ROM from Stable version (all data will be deleted from your phone). Vice versa won’t work.

How to flash Mi Note 3 to Global Stable ROM from China Stable with locked bootloader

Here’s a tutorial on how you can flash Global ROM on your Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with China Stable without a need to unlock the bootloader. The solution is to use the Chinese version of Mi PC Suite.

1. Download Chinese version of Mi PC Suite: MiInst.exe
2. Download latest Global Stable OTA ROM from here: http://en.miui.com/download-336.html
3. Install MiPCSuite. Open and update it to the latest version (2.3.0.901 at the moment).
4. Turn off your phone with Global Stable ROM and turn it on in recovery assistant mode by pressing “Power” and “Volume Up” buttons.
5. Connect your phone to PC.
6. Phone should be identified in MiPCSuite.
7. The window with 3 buttons should appear, you’ll need to press the first one.
8. Now select previously download OTA Global ROM.
9. The flashing progress won’t be displayed in MiPCSuite, only on phone screen.
10. Wait around 15 minutes until flashing is completed.
11. After flashing is completed, your phone will automatically reboot into system.

There’s might be an issue that you can’t change region, only China is available. Another possible issue of this method is that you won’t be able to use Google Account. The solution is to backup-restore everything from your previous device.

Also you can install VPN on your phone and sync with your account. This will help to get rid of “10008” and “86023” errors.

How to update Mi Note 3 from Weekly ROM to Global Stable

In case you’ve got Global Developer ROM installed on your phone then you can easily update to the latest Global Stable MIUI ROM version very easily. Here’s what you’ll need to do. Download the latest Global Stable ROM (V9.1.4.0.NCHMIEI MIUI9 at this moment) at go to “Updater” application on your phone, tap on the three dots icon and select “Choose update package”, then locate downloaded ROM. Enable Android Pay on Xiaomi Mi Note 3

Let’s start with the method which should work on every ROM version:

1. Download the latest “Magisk – The Universal Systemless Interface“.
2. Download the following patch universal-safetynet-fix-v2-beta-5.zip and copy the archive together with previously downloaded Magisk app to phone internal memory root. Pay attention! In case you’re installing Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU, then you’ll need to extract boot.img file from your ROM and copy it to phone internal memory root as well.
3. Flash required ROM. If it comes without inbuilt root, skip the next step and go straight to the step 5. If you’re installing a Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU root, proceed to the step 4.
4. Let your device to startup for the first time and remove SuperSU, next boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and flash boot.img as a boot partition, so that later Magisk could patch it the right way.
5. Install Magisk-v14.0.zip via TWRP Custom Recovery, reboot into system, then reboot into TWRP once again and flash safetynet module this time.
6. Reboot into system.
7. Open Magisk Manager, go to “Modules” and check if “universalsafetynet” is enabled. Next check the “safetynet” status.
8. If everything was done correctly, then Android Pay should work perfectly fine right now. Don’t forget to visit additional settings and check if HCE security is enabled.
9. After you’ve installed any bank or payment application don’t forget to hide root and enable “MagiskHide” option for these apps.

How to fix not working Android Pay on Mi Note 3 Stock ROM

Here’s a method on how you can activate Android Pay straight out the box on both Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi Note 3 with stock MIUI9 ROM installed.

To make Android Pay work, try following the steps below:

1. Delete your card from Android Pay.
2. Clean all passwords.

• Download archive with patch: Mi-5x-Google-Play.rar
• Unpack and copy unpacked folder to “miui” > “backup” folder on your phone.
• Go to “Settings” > “Backup and restore” and tap on available backup from the archive.
• Wait until backup is restored. That’s it! “Checking info” issue should be gone now.

How to install Google Play on Mi Note 3 with China ROM installed

Here’s another method on how you can install Google Play Store on China MIUI ROM.

1. Start with opening App Store application on your phone.
