Flash, Fix Bootloop and Reset Redmi Note 3 Pro to Factory Settings

1. Download and install Chinese version of Mi PC Suite: MiInst.exe (don’t forget to confirm drivers installation).
2. Open Mi PC Suite.
3. Press and hold Volume Up and Power buttons for 3-5 seconds, after short vibration signal release the Power button and keep holding Volume Up until your phone boots into Recovery mode. Now connect your device to PC via USB cable.
4. In Mi PC Suite opened window press the first button and select downloaded ROM from here http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#438
5. Wait until flashing process is completed and green Chinese symbols appear. Confirm ROM installation by pressing the top button.
6. The progress bar should appear, wait until your phone reboots.
7. Wait for 10-15 minutes until installation is fully completed.
8. Now should get a fully working phone with a fresh ROM installed.
9. To get back to factory setting and reset your phone press the middle button in Mi PC Suite.

Flashing Global ROM on Redmi 4A with locked bootloader

First thing you’ll need is to check the bootloader lock status. If your device is already unlocked then you can flash the Global ROM using MiFlash tool.

How to check bootloader status on Redmi 4A

1. Download and unpack Platform-tools (adb/fastboot). 
2. Boot your device in fastboot mode (turn off your device, then press and hold “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons, after short vibration signal release the “Power” button and wait until fastboot logo appears).
3. Now connect your device to PC via USB-cable.
4. In the folder with ADB Tools, hold “Shift” button and right mouse click, select “Open command window here”.
5. In the opened terminal windows, type these commands:

   fastboot devices
   fastboot oem device-info

6. “Device unlocked: true” message means that you’ve unlocked bootloader. “Device unlocked: false” means that bootloader is locked.

Ok, now you’ve checked bootloader status. Continue to this guide only if you’re pretty sure about what you’re doing. And remember that you’re doing everything at your own risk.

How to flash Global ROM on locked Redmi 4A

Here’s two ways on how to flash locked Redmi 4A device. Please read carefully and pay attention to the details.

First method:

1. Download and install Chinese MiSuite: http://zhushou.xiaomi.com/
2. Boot your device in recovery mode. To enter recovery mode: Turn off your device, then press and hold “Volume Up” + “Power” buttons. After Mi logo appeared, release the “Power” button and keep holding “Volume Up”. In the menu press “Recovery” button.
3. Open MiSuite and connect Redmi 4A to PC or laptop. A menu with 4 buttons should appear. Press the second button from the top.
4. Select the .zip file with China Developer ROM. No need to unpack .zip file. Press “Open”.
5. On your phone you should see some kind of progress bar, and in MiSuite you most probably will see an error message. Don’t worry and don’t press anything. Wait until installation on your phone is completed.
6. Your device will reboot. Currently we have installed some kind of Frankenstein ROM version.
7. Make full wipe with data formatting.
8. After full wipe and passing the welcome screen, reboot your device in recovery mode again (watch step 2).
9. Now repeat the step 4, but instead of China Developer ROM, we will flash Global ROM .zip file.
10. Watch the progress bar on your phone. Do not pay attention to the progress bar on your PC.
11. On the first reboot you’ll see some errors. Press “Cancel” and make factory reset.
12. Congratulations! You’ve successfully flashed Global ROM on your device with locked bootloader.

Second method:

1. Download and install Chinese MiSuite: http://zhushou.xiaomi.com/
2. Boot your device in recovery mode. To enter recovery mode: Turn off your device, then press and hold “Volume Up” + “Power” buttons. After Mi logo appeared, release the “Power” button and keep holding “Volume Up”. In the menu press “Recovery” button.
3. Open MiSuite and connect Redmi 4A to PC or laptop. A menu with 3 buttons should appear. Press the first button from the top.
4. Now we select Global ROM .zip file.
5. After short loading press the top button again.
6. Progress bar on your device should appear. Ignore errors in Mi Suite and wait until installation is completed.
7. On the first reboot you’ll see some errors. Press “Cancel” and make factory reset.
8. Congratulations! You’ve successfully flashed Global ROM!

Flash Redmi Note 4X from China 8.1.12 to Global ROM with locked bootloader

First thing you’ll need to do is to download latest China Developer ROM version. Here’s the link: http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=rom/download&r=321&mobile=no#469

1. Copy downloaded latest version of China Developer ROM to your phone and update using three dots updater.
2. Download China Mi PC Suite 2.30 (it’s important to download exactly Chinese version). Download link: MiSetup2.3.0.1031_2717.exe (41.1 MB)
3. Install Mi PC Suite 2.30 Chinese language version and update it to the latest build (press blue arrow in the left bottom corner to update).
4. Now download latest Redmi Note 4X Global Stable ROM: http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=rom/download&r=321&mobile=no#474
5. Make sure you’ve installed all required drivers on your PC (search our website in case you don’t know what drivers are required).
6. Now reboot your phone in recovery mode using three dots app or turn off your device and press “Volume +” and “Power” buttons at the same time.
7. Next connect your device to PC via USB-cable (Mi PC Suite should be running).
8. After your device is identified in Mi PC Suite click on big orange button.
9. Next you’ll see three buttons with Chinese symbols, click on the top one and select path to downloaded Global Stable ROM .zip archive and press left button to start flashing.
10. Flashing process should start. You will see percentage progress bar on your PC and progress bar on your device.
11. Wait until flash process is completed. It usually takes a long time, like 20-30 minutes.
12. Then your device will reboots and will show Mi logo for quite a long time.
13. Now boot in recovery again and connect your device to PC.
14. In Mi PC Suite press the middle button (wipe) and then press the last button (reboot).
15. Your device will reboot.
16. Congratulations! You’ve installed latest Global Stable ROM version on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X.
