<li>Disable disable driver signature enforcement <em>(read more <a href="https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/disable-driver-signature-enforcement-windows/">here</a>)</em>.</li>
<li>Download MiFlash <em>(<a href="https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-drivers-tools-redmi-4x-prime/">Redmi 4X drivers &amp; Tools</a>)</em> and install. Confirm drivers installation!</li>
<li>Download <a href="https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-latest-miui-roms-xiaomi-redmi-4x/">Redmi 4X MIUI ROM for MiFlash / fastboot</a> and unpack downloaded ROM into <strong>&#8220;C:\rom&#8221;</strong> folder.</li>
<li>Open MiFlash and select folder with unpacked ROM files. In MiFlash select <strong>&#8220;Flash all&#8221;</strong> or <strong>&#8220;clean all&#8221;</strong> option.</li>
<li>Boot your device in EDL / Download mode.</li>
<li>Let Windows install all drivers. In &#8220;Device Manager&#8221; your device should be found in &#8220;Ports (COM &amp; LPT)&#8221; and recognized as <strong>Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMX)</strong>. In case you see <b>Relink HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMX) </b>device, then manually delete this drivers and reconnect your device in EDL / Download mode <em>(first turn on your device by holding &#8220;Power&#8221; button until vibration signal)</em>. In case it doesn&#8217;t help, right click on device in &#8220;Device Manager&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Update drivers&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Search for drivers on this PC&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Select from installed drivers&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMX)&#8221;.</li>
<li>In MiFlash press <strong>&#8220;Refresh&#8221;</strong>. In<strong> &#8220;Device&#8221;</strong> tab you should see the same COM port number as in &#8220;Device manager&#8221;.</li>
<li>Press <strong>&#8220;Flash&#8221;</strong> button and wait until installation process is completed. Usually it takes around 5 minutes.</li>
</ol>
<p>In case of error you may try different version of MiFlash. If it doesn&#8217;t help either, then try connecting your device to another USB port and use another PC if possible.</p>
<h4>How to flash from China 8.1.x.0 or later</h4>
<ol>
<li>Download 8.0.3.0 MIUI ROM Recovery / System and copy to phone root memory.</li>
<li>Open the &#8220;Updater&#8221; app, tap on &#8220;three dots&#8221; icon and select copied ROM .zip archive. If you&#8217;ve stuck with verification errors try renaming the file to update.zip.</li>
<li><span style="color: #ff0000;">All data and personal settings will be deleted!</span></li>
<li>Confirm with terms and wait for the system to start.</li>
<li>Turn off your device, press &#8220;Power&#8221; and &#8220;Volume Up&#8221; buttons, after vibration release the &#8220;Power&#8221; button.</li>
<li>In the menu select <strong>&#8220;download&#8221;</strong>.</li>
</ol>
<h4>How to downgrade Redmi 4X to 8.0.5.0 MIUI ROM</h4>
<ol>
<li>Turn off your phone.</li>
<li>Hold both volume buttons and connect your device to PC.</li>
<li>After vibration signal, release volume buttons. Nothing should appear on the screen after vibration. If your device just reboots, try turning off your device, then connect it to PC while pressing both volume buttons at the same time. After vibration release both buttons.</li>

<h2>How to unlock bootloader on Xiaomi smartphone after receiving official permission</h2>
<p>First thing that you must pay attention to. To unlock bootloader you must have Weekly Developer MIUI ROM version installed on your device. If your MI account is old enough you can try unlock your device on Stable ROM, but this is rarely works.</p>
<p>Link your Xiaomi phone to the Mi account for which you have acquired permission. To avoid &#8220;stuck at 50% unlocking&#8221; error after logging into your account, do some random actions with this account, for example find your phone on the site i.mi.com.</p>
<ol>
<li>Download and unpack <strong>MiFlashUnlock.</strong></li>
<li>On the first startup click <strong>&#8220;Agree&#8221;</strong>.</li>
<li>Sign in with your Mi account.</li>
<li>Turn off your device completely.</li>
<li>Now start your device in fastboot mode. Press &#8220;Power&#8221; button and &#8220;Volume Down&#8221; button at the same time and wait for logo to appear.</li>
<li>Connect your device to PC and press <strong>&#8220;Unlock&#8221;</strong> button.</li>
<li>If all three checkmarks are highlighted you&#8217;ve successfully unlocked bootloader on your device.</li>

<h2>Unlock Xiaomi Redmi 4 Bootloader with Mi Unlock</h2>
<ol>
<li>In your smartphone enter Mi account credentials: <strong>Settings &gt; Mi Account</strong></li>
<li>Start your smartphone in <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>fastboot mode</strong></span> (turn off, hold power button and volume down, wait for short vibration signal and release the power button then. Wait for the fastboot logo to appear.</li>
<li>Now connect your device to your PC or laptop.</li>
<li>Download<strong> Mi Unlock </strong><em>(you can find download link below)</em> and extract it to any folder of your PC.

<li>Press <strong>&#8220;Reboot phone&#8221;</strong> and wait for device to reboot.</li>
