In this article, it features a list of the best Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Custom ROMs. However, before you install any Custom ROM, it goes without saying that you need to have TWRP Recovery on your device. Once you have the TWRP on your device, you can commence with the Custom ROM installation process. The TWRP allows you to flash any Custom ROM you select for your F1 smart device.

Caution: Not every ROM will be stable and is recommended for use as a daily driver.

You ought to go through the description and features of each ROM you wish to install to distinguish their features and level of use. Let’s look at some of the best Custom OS that we recommended using on your Xiaomi Pocophone F1 device…

Oxygen OS ROM for Poco F1 – It serves as the customized Android OS developed by OnePlus (a Chinese smartphone manufacturer) and can only be used in the smartphones they build.

The Oxygen OS was created for the global platform. The company also created another Os for the Chinese market that they named Hydrogen OS. Oxygen OS began life during the Android Lollipop platform and continued to evolve till now where it incorporates Android 9.0 Pie OS. The Custom OS comes free of bloat as well as unnecessary features.

crDroid – The crDroid Custom ROM is designed to enhance performance as well as reliability over stock Android. The OS comes laden with many features that are in existence on the 9.0 Pie OS. The crDroid platform is based on Lineage OS and requires custom kernels for compatibility. To install the OS without difficulty your smart device needs to have TWRP Recovery installed.

Bootleggers ROM – The aftermarket firmware Bootleggers ROM is based on Ground Zero Open Source Project. The OS comes full of custom features applicable to use apps on your smart device. The ROM comes with custom wallpapers, fonts, ringtones that make your device have a more fresh look. It’s also packed with a selection of customization options and features that sets it apart from other Custom ROM firmware in the market today.

CarbonROM – Another aftermarket firmware based on AOSP project. It’s one of the fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMS in the market today. The Custom ROM is regularly updated with newer builds, hardware support, and fixes. Its UI is similar to stock Android (the same one used on Pixel phones).

Hello guys! Here we want to describe and tell you the methods on how you can optimize the MIUI10 Global ROM on Poco F1 device for a longer battery life. So let’s get started and check out all available methods one-by-one.

Extend Xiaomi Poco F1 Battery With These Steps

First of all, open “Security” > then “Data transfer” > “Network” and start disabling both Wi-Fi and mobile internet access to the applications you don’t use and don’t require network connection to work. Also you can turn off network access for those application that you don’t want to have access to the network.

We need to do this to be sure that these applications aren’t using any network connections while working in background and overloading the smartphone battery without any special reason. Also pay carefully attention to any additional apps from Facebook and especially to “msa” app (this one is responsible for loading additional ads on your phone).

Now, at the same page, click on the “Three Dots” icon in the top right corner and and go to “Background Connections”, disable all the applications, even the system ones. You can leave the ones you want to receive notifications from (Telegram, Instagram, Facebook etc).

Next, we will go to “Settings”, tap on “Battery and performance” > go to the “List of applications” and find the “Activity Control”. Again click on the “Three Dots” icon in the right corner and then tap on “System Application”. Now we will select those apps that we don’t expect to receive notifications or don’t want to receive them in the first place, so that they don’t load the battery in the background. Also we will need enable limits for each app we want to block.

Without leaving “Settings”, go to “Additional Settings” > “Authorization & revocation” and disable the following apps: MiVideo, msa, MiuiDaemon, Report, Downloads. Wait until 10 seconds pass and confirm. Don’t forger to disable “msa” app (sometimes this app is responsible for additional ads on your smart).

Now in “Additional settings” > “Special Access” > here you can disable applications access in additional details. Basically choose and app and disable everything to save battery life. Pay attention to “Notification access” and disable the following apps: Android Device Settings, Analytics, MSA, Xiaomi Service Framework.

Go back to “Settings” main page > go to “Synchronization” and disable all automatic sync. Also go to Google Account and disable all google sync, in case you’re planning to use it. This will definitely help to extend your battery.

Now we’ll visit “Permissions and Auto-start” menu and disable everything that we don’t require. Don’t forget to tap on “Three Dots” icon to display system application in the list. I highly recommend to disable pretty much all apps that you’re not using all the time.

Also pay a visit to “Apps permissions” and check each and every in order. Check and disable everything that you’re not required, for example turn off GPS permissions for the applications that are not required this.

Now for the most interesting part here, we want to disable all the advertisement in MIUI firmware.

Go to “Security” > press the “gear” icon in the top and disable “Receive recommendations”. Open “Clear” app and turn off
“Receive recommendations” once again.

Now open “Explorer”, tap on the three lines icon in the left top corner, go to “Settings” > “Information” and also disable recommendations here as well. Do the same for “Themes” and “Downloads” application.

Thank you for reading! That was all the recommendation we can share right now. If we missed something or forgot to describe it, please share your methods in the comments below!

Some Poco F1 users recently reported
having ghost touch issues on their devices. There are cases where
users also reported multi-touch issues. For those of you who are not
familiar with these terms, ghost touch issues are manifesting with
actual touches on the screen, while users do not touch the screen.
Multi-touch issues are manifesting with not registering touches when
users are trying to touch the screen at multiple points at the same
time.

If you are suffering from some of the
issues explained above, this is the guide that may help you solve the
issues.

How to Detect and fix Multi-Touch on Pocophone F1

Now, let’s test your device. Here are
the steps.

First, download a multi-touch
tester app from Play store. (You can use this
	one)

Launch the app and do some
testings by yourself. See if you can spot any issues.

Try doing 3-finger swipe down
(your phone should take a screenshot).

Then randomly touch your screen
with 1 and 2 fingers. You will be able to notice 1 or 2 ghost
	touches.

If this is the case, you just
found out that your phone suffers from this popular issue.

The Nature of the Issue

In order to fix the multi-touch and
ghost-touch issues, we need to locate what causes them. Before you
freak out and decide to return your device, please take a look at the
rest of the article.

From all the testings we made, this
seems to be a software bug (at least in our case). That means your
device doesn’t have any hardware problems, which is a good thing.
To be more precise, the issue is caused by the screenshot capture
feature. For some reason, once it gets activated the touch input gets
confused and doesn’t recognize the touches correctly. Hopefully, it
will be fixed in the next software update of Xiaomi. Now let’s jump
on the solution.

How to Fix the Multi-Touch/Ghost-Touch Issue

The solution is not some coding stuff
that you might expect. You do not even need to have a rooted device.
It is a simple disabling some feature. Here are the steps.

Go to Settings and tap on
	Additional settings.

Now open Button and Gesture
shortcuts and tap on Take Screenshot.

Set it to None.

Then reboot your device. (You can
now uninstall the Multi-touch tester app that you installed before)

Your Multi-Touch/Ghost-Issue is
	gone.

This is a complete guide for rooting
Xiaomi Pocophone and keeping the stock recovery on it. That means you
will still able to receive OTA updates on your device.

Tools you Need

TWRP 3.2.3-x Unofficial with working DECRYPTION 12/10/2018

Minimal ADB Fastboot

Magisk Manager App

USB Driver

How to Unlock Bootloader on Pocophone F1

Before starting the procedure, we
highly recommend you to back up all the files on your device.

First, go to Settings and
	tap on About phone.

Locate the MIUI version
and tap on it 6-8 times.

Go to Additional Settings
and open the section Developer Options.

Make sure you turn on USB
	Debugging and OEM Unlocking.

Now go to Settings and open
	Developer Options.

Tap on Mi Unlock Status and select
Add Account & Device. Then log in with your MI account. (Your Mi
	account should be verified)

Now go to MIUI
Unlock site and login with your MI account.

Once you logged in, you should be
able to download Unlock bootloader and MI Unlock without any further
steps (this was the case when I was performing the procedure).

If you aren’t able to download
the tools right away, apply and wait for confirmation.

Install Xiaomi USB Drivers (from
the link provided above). You can also install it by MI Unlock app
	settings option.

Launch MI Unlock app and turn off
	your phone manually.

Now press and hold Volume down
button and Power button. Your device should enter into Fastboot
	Mode.

Connect your Xiaomi device to your
PC using a USB cable and click on Unlock.

Boot into TWRP

Launch Minimal ADB Fastboot
terminal as Administrator on your PC.

Turn off your Xiaomi device.

Connect the phone to your PC.

Press and hold Power and Volume
down buttons until Fastboot screen shows up.

Type the following command in your
	Minimal ADB Fastboot terminal:
fastboot devices
Now your phone
should show up. (something like this “9e00a7e3 fastboot”)

Method #1

Type the following
	command:
fastboot boot <path to your TWRP .img recovery
	file>
Your phone should boot up into TWRP recovery.

If it requires a password, click
	Cancel.

If it is
asking for keeping/system read only, swipe to allow the
	modifications.

Method #2

Type the following command:
adb
	shell

Now you have access
to Super User shell via ADB.

While in TWRP, go to Advanced and
	tap on File Manager.

Now go to “dev/block/platform/”
then open the “soc” folder if it is there.

Here you can see folders and
files. You will need to open the folders and search for the one
called “by-name.” (it should be in one of the folders) In my
case it was located in /dev/block/platform/soc/1d94000.ufshc.

Now we need the name of the folder
	that contains “by-name”
example:
	/dev/block/platform/soc/FOLDER NAME/by-name

soc – you should
also have this folder if present.
FOLDER NAME – the folder which
“by-name” is located in.

Into the terminal type the
following command (replace soc and FOLDER NAME respectively):
ls
	-al /dev/block/platform/soc/FOLDER NAME/by-name

Now you will see the partitions of
your phone. You will need to locate your boot
	partition.
example:
lpwxrwxrwx 1 root root
	      25 Feb 15  1970 boot -> /dev/block/sde45

Pulling your Stock Boot.img

Launch ADB Shell terminal and type
the following command (replace sde45 with your partition – see the
	step above):

dd
if=/dev/block/sde45 of=/sdcard/boot.img

Now type:
exit

Then type the following:
adb
	pull /sdcard/boot.img

Your stock boot.img
should be downloaded into your Minimal ADB Fastboot folder.

Type:
adb reboot

And you are done.

OTA Updates

To install OTA Updates you will need to
do one of the following methods.

Method #1

Uninstall Magisk using Magisk Manager.

Install the OTA update.

Method #2

Pull boot.img and patch it again

Now flash the newly patched
boot.img or try with the last one you had before the OTA update.

Keep in mind that with this tutorial we
are not flashing TWRP. We are just booting the device into TWRP
without flashing it. That way we are accessing to Super User via ADB.

How to update firmware on Pocophone F1?

Let’s start with locked bootloader methods first. To update ROM version on locked device you’ll need to use the “Updater” application, that’s the only working method. It’s really easy to do, there’s almost no chance to brick your device and all personal data will be saved. If you’ll downgrade or switch to Weekly Developer ROM then the phone will be reset to factory settings and memory will be wiped.

If you already have the unlocked bootloader you can flash and update via TWRP Custom Recovery. But there is some nuances you should pay attention to before doing any manipulations with your device. Current TWRP versions aren’t working with OTA. You’ll also need to use the Disable Force Encryption patch. In short, boot into TWRP, go to “Install”, select downloaded ROM, wipe Cache after installation and then flash the Encryption patch.

This is a hot-to-debloat guide for Xiaomi POCO F1. If you are not familiar with the “debloat” term, it means removing all the unnecessary (bloatware) software from the device. Removing the bloatware can be performed using different methods. However, we are deleting individual packages to test which are safe to uninstall and which are not. To accomplish this procedure on your device, you will need ADB tools and a few simple commands written in the command prompt. You do not need to have a rooted device in order to debloat your Xiaomi POCO F1 using this procedure.

How to remove junk apps on Xiaomi POCO F1

The Debloating Procedure

First get ADB tools from the following link. This is the official source from Google.

Extract all the content from the archive file to a folder located on your computer.

Launch Command Prompt in the same folder where you’ve extracted the archive. You can do that by right-clicking while holding down the Shift key, and then choosing Open Command Prompt window here (or Open PowerShell window here on Windows 10).

Connect your device to the computer.

Make sure that you have USB debugging enabled on your Android device. You can do that by going to Settings > About Phone > Click 5 times on MIUI Version. Now, go back to Additional Settings > System & Device > Developer options > Enable USB Debugging.

Now type the following command in the Command Prompt to check if your Android device is properly connected.
Command:
adb devices

You will get a result similar to this:

List of devices attached

@#$SDR6 Device

Once you get results similar to the one above, you can continue with the following.

Now, you need to identify all packages with the Xiaomi word in their names. To do that type the following.
