We all know the frustration of running out of space on our smartphones. From videos and pictures, to applications and messages, sometimes it just feels as though the internal storage just isn’t enough to accommodate our needs. And though most phones have expandable storage, that storage is often also not enough to ensure we can hold on to heart warming photos or download more apps to keep us busy during out free time.

This is where Files Go by Google comes in. The extraordinary file manager is an extremely dependable application that allows users to not only free up space on their phones, but also allows users to organize their files and even share files with other users offline.

Google’s Files Go is the Best File Manager for the Xiaomi Mi A1

It is no surprise that this powerful file manager is the perfect application for numerous smartphones, including the Xiaomi Mi A1 which is also powered by Google. This means that the functionality of Files Go fits perfectly with the rest of the phone’s usability. And though the Mi A1 offers an incredible 64GB of storage, Files Go helps open up the possibility of having increased storage for your phone.

Freeing Up Space

Files Go gives users alerts for applications that haven’t been used within the past month, helping users be more in control of freeing up “in-phone” space. This is especially a great tool for individuals that have many different applications downloaded, all inserted into different folders within one’s phone.

Depending on the number of applications that you use, it can become quite easy to lose track of certain applications, allowing them to needlessly take up space on your phone. However, thanks to Files Go programmed alert system and easy to navigate interface, you can find unused applications and quickly delete them from your phone.

Streamlines File Organization

The organizer comes with an intuitive interface, organizing different files based on categories — photos, applications, video, audio, and documents. This helps users find what they’re looking for quickly, while also giving users a general sense of what exactly is taking up a lot of storage on their phones. And for users with tons of in-phone storage and a lot of applications downloaded, the file organizer is a convenient way to streamline and get quicker access to applications.

File Sharing

Many have called Files Go as the android equivalent of Apple’s AirDrop, and rightfully so as Files Go allows users to send and receive files from other users. This can be done be creating a secure hotspot between two users, allowing almost instantaneous transfer of documents, photos, and music.

Final Thoughts

Files Go is definitely an application that many smartphone users have been waiting for. The ability to quickly send files to a friend or colleague, organizing important files on one’s phone, and helping users free up space is a convenience that many Android users will want.

Xiaomi Inc. has a beautiful lineup of amazing phones, each one with their own personality, functionality, and elegant design. As such, there is a perfect phone for practically anyone looking for a high quality, reliable smartphone.

The three most popular phones part of the Xiaomi lineup include the Redmi Note 3, the Mi 5, and the Mi 6; each offering something a little different in terms of storage, processing power, camera quality, and price range. The following is therefore a run down of what each has to offer.

Smart choice for Xiaomi phone in 2018

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

Buy Redmi Note 3 at GearBest.com

With a price point of around $250, the Redmi Note 3 is still a rather robust, dependable smartphone for almost any user. Coming with a 16GB or 32GB internal storage that can be expanded to 128GB, this phone is perfect for individuals who like to occasionally take photos or want to have a few “go-to” applications downloaded.

Speaking of photos, however, the Redmi Note 3 offers a 16MP rear facing camera, but only comes with a standard single lens system. This can be an issue when compared to the better camera quality and dual lens system found on the other two phones, but is still of remarkable quality for individuals.

Out of all three phones, the Redmi Note 3 also offers the greatest battery capacity, offering just over 4000mAh

The Redmi 3 also comes in three distinct colors: grey, silver, and gold; allowing you a bit of customization in terms of what color you want to show off.

Xiaomi Mi 5

Buy Xiaomi Mi5 at GearBest.com

The Mi 5 costs $350 but is definitely an upgrade to the Redmi Note 3. Not only is the Mi 5 significantly lighter, weighing only 129g, but the overall body is a bit smaller as well, having just a 5.15in display size compared to the Note 3’s 5.5in display. This form factor makes the Mi 5 perfect for individuals who want a smaller, more compact, and lighter phone, especially if you find yourself carrying this phone around at all times.

In terms of camera quality, the Mi 5 still rocks an amazing 16MP, but this time comes with a 4 axis optical image stabilization system, giving users a much smoother photography and videography experience.

The lens is also covered with a durable sapphire glass to prevent scratches, ensuring that your photos are of high quality for many years to come. And in terms of low light photography, the Mi 5 also offers low light photo enhancement by putting together multiple images taken together.

The Mi 5 also has a faster processor but the same storage capacity as the Redmi Note 3.

Xiaomi Mi 6

In terms of pure aesthetics, the Mi 6 is definitely an upgrade. Buy at GearBest

Coming in at around $500,the Mi 6 is truly a powerful, slick smartphone that is a must have for people who love massive storage and truly stellar camera quality. Coming with a Snapdragon 835, 10nm processor, the responsiveness on this phone is extremely satisfying to use.

In terms of form factor, this phone is exactly the same as the Mi 5, lending itself to being an extremely light, easy to hold smart phone. However, in terms of pure aesthetics, the Mi 6 is definitely an upgrade, offering a four sided curved ceramic/glass body, with a casing that comes in black, white, or the more popular, vibrant blue.

The phone also offers a dual lens, each being 12MP, giving users more control over lighting and aperture. And the processor is a more advanced Snapdragon 835, with a storage capacity of either 64GB or 128GB with 6GB of RAM for each.

However, in terms of battery power, the Mi 6 offers the least battery power, coming in at just around 3350mAh.

Final Thoughts

Each of these phones are stellar, offering a great durability, form factor, camera quality, and processing power. If you’re someone who wants to save some money while still having a decent phone, the Redmi Note 3 is great.

However, if you’re looking for something that is a little snappier and has better camera quality, the Mi 5 and Mi 6 are definitely something you should look into.

In today’s smartphone market, you’ll pretty much always see a phone have a slightly better, more “up-tuned” counterpart. For example, most iPhones have a Pro or S version; and this trend can be seen with many of the more popular smartphones out on the market today. And the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is certainly no exception to this trend.

But just because there is a Pro version to this already amazing phone, does that mean you should drop a couple extra hundred dollars to get the slightly more improved version? Often times the Pro version is simply not needed for the things that you intend to use it for. So to be certain as to whether you should get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 or the Pro version, the following is a brief intro to what each phone has to offer.

Should You Get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 or the Pro Version?

The Form Factor

The Note 3 is a bit smaller than the Pro version, as the Note 3 comes in at dimensions of 150.00 x 76.00 x 8.65 (mm), while the Pro comes in at 151.50 x 76.20 x 8.15.

The Pro’s increase in size also makes it a little bit heavier than the Note 3, but is certainly something consumers look for if they want a sturdier feeling phone.

The Camera

The camera is probably the biggest difference between these two phones, as the Redmi Note 3 offers a 16MP rear facing camera when compared to the 13MP camera offered by the Pro version.

Though this seems like a downgrade, however, the Pro version does offer a dual lens rear facing camera, offering users a more improved low light photography experience, and the ability to better focus on one’s subject.

Display Quality

Both phones brandish IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 16M color display, giving both phones an identical vivid, HD screen.

In terms of pixels though, the similarity ends. The Pro version unfortunately boasts 342 PPI as opposed to the Redmi Note 3’s PPI. But the Pro version’s spectacularly vivid OLED display makes up for the small lack in pixels, offering crystal clear, vibrant colors.

Storage and Ram

The Pro version touts better RAM, offering 3GB as opposed to the Note 3’s 2 GB; the Pro version also offers up to 32GB of internal storage when compared to the Note 3’s significantly smaller, 16GB. It should be noted, however, that both phones can accommodate expanded storage up to 128GB

Processor

The Redmi Note 3 offers a 1.4GHz hexa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor; while its Pro counterpart offers an improved 2.1GHz MediaTek Helio X20. This improvement lends to the Pro version being a bit snappier and more responsive to touch.

The Verdict?

Though the Pro version offers slightly better specs in terms of processing power, memory, and display quality, the Redmi Note 3 offers great functionality for the lower price of $250 compared to the Pro’s $350.

However, if you’re someone who likes to have a bit of a bulkier phone with faster processing power, the Pro version is definitely great if you can spend an extra $100.

With the latest Iphone X being out on the market, an overwhelming number of consumers within the smartphone space are scrambling to get their hands on Apple’s newest Iphone. And with any new release, there are many who praise Apple’s new phone for its improvements, while others are scrutinizing Apple’s lack of newer innovations to truly set it apart from their competitors.

With new smartphone releases such as the Iphone X, there is also a substantial part of the consumer basis that are looking for phones that are different and unique from what most consider “the battle between iPhone and Samsung.” For this desire for something fresh and innovative, while having a price point that is competitive, comes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 by Xiaomi Inc.

[Review] Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 vs iPhone X

This stellar smartphone by Xiaomi Inc. is certainly a powerhouse of a phone, offering numerous features that are comparable to what the Iphone X has to offer. The following are just a few aspects where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 holds up against the Iphone X.

Redmi Note 3 offers comparable quality and has a much lower price point than the Apple competitor.

Camera Quality

With a 16MP camera, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 offers high quality photos with extremely quick auto focus for those instances when you’re trying to take photos of something in action. When compared to the Iphone X’s 12MP camera, the Redmi 3 is great.

The Iphone X however does offer a wider array of “in-phone” editing options, giving more of a studio look. However, if you’re simply interested in snapping crisp, vibrant photos without the need for much editing, the Redmi 3 is absolutely perfect. On top of this, there are numerous applications that you can download that give you even more editing power, meaning you don’t necessarily need an Iphone X to get high quality photos.

Video Quality

Unlike the Redmi Note 3, the Iphone X does offer 4K resolution video recording. However, both phones are able to take 1080p, full HD video which is more than enough for most consumers wanting to take crisp, fluid videos.

Casing and Screen Size

The Iphone X comes equipped with a much bigger display, coming in at 5.8 inches; the Iphone X also has no home button, allowing the display to practically take up the entire length of the phone.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 on the other hand has a smaller screen, coming in at 5.5 inches, but comes with an extremely intelligent Sunlight Display, which helps the screen stay vibrant and readable even in harsh lighting. The Redmi 3 also comes with a bezel, which is a hit or miss depending on whether you like the feel of having a “home” button on your phone.

Both phones offer impeccable resolution, though the Iphone X offers a bit more vibrance when it comes to colors and saturation.

Capacity

The Iphone X is a clear winner in terms of storage, allowing users to have either 64GB or 254GB, compared to the Redmi’s 16GB or 32GB. However, the Redmi Note 3 can have an expanded storage of up to 128GB, which is more than enough for most users. On top of this, there are numerous file organizing applications that can b downloaded to offer cloud space, and therefore even more storage for your phone.

Final Thoughts

In terms of sheer power, the Iphone X does offer a bit more in terms of storage space, screen size/resolution, and camera quality. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, offers comparable quality and has a much lower price point than the Apple competitor.

At the end of the day, is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 a phone you should look into? Most definitely, especially if you’re looking for a phone that offers impressive quality for a much lower price of $250, compared to the Iphone X’s price of around $900.
