Pay attention – Do not update to ARB4 via TWRP Custm Recovery. Before unlocking the bootloader, it’s highly recommended to install the official MIUI firmware via fastboot. You can check the ARB and bootloader status on your device by following the tutorial below:

How to check ARB status on Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Note 5 Global?

1. Reboot your device in fastboot mode.
2. Download and extract Platform Tools on “C:\” drive.
3. Go into the folder with unpacked archive, hold “Shift” key and right mouse click on an empty space. Select “Open command window here”.
4. Type the “fastboot devices” command in terminal and if your phone is successfully recognized, then type the next command “fastboot getvar anti” to see the ARB status.
5. The number “3” means that you can easily downgrade the firmware on your device, if you see the number “4”, that means that you can get a hardbrick as a result of downgrading.

Download Platform Tools: platform-tools-latest-windows.zip

Requirements:

• You’ll need authorized MI account so you can flash your phone in EDL mode. To get this, you’ll most probably need to contact MIUI support a few times. To check the account permission find “account_auth.exe” in MiFlash folder and enter your account credentials.
• QDLoader HS-USB Driver installed.
• MiFlash Software installed, recommended version is 20180528.
• Official ROM for fastboot which includes ARB4.
• Hardbrick Xiaomi phone in your hands.

Now when you’ve got everything installed and got all required permissions, you can continue with unbricking tutorial:

1. Extract download fastboot ROM and MiFlash to the C:\ drive.
2. Start MiFlash tool.
3. Locate unpacked ROM and select “Clean All” option.
4. Press “refresh” to locate connected device.
5. Now press “flash”.
6. The new window will popup and you’ll need to enter your account credentials.
7. After successful authorization wait until the flashing process is finished completely.
8. In the end you’ll see a “success” message in “result” column.
9. Disconnect your device from PC and turn it on!

Just in case, here is the short list of possible issues:

• You can only flash one single device using your Mi account.
• If the flashing process doesn’t start try to reinstall drivers on your PC.
• If you see “Unauthorized xiaomi account” that means that your account doesn’t have the required permissions.

1. Download Xiaomi Miflash v7.4.25, drivers and Global Stable fastboot ROM for Xiaomi Mi Max 2.
   1. Xiaomi Miflash v7.4.25: MiFlashSetup_eng.msi
   2. Latest Fastboot Global Stable ROM: Mi Max 2 V9.0.3.0.NDDMIEI
   3. USB Driver: QDLoader+HS-USB+Driver.zip
2. Follow this video on YouTube and check out how to dissemble Mi Max 2 phone. You’ll need to disconnect the battery for a few seconds, pair test-points together and connect your phone to PC via USB cable at the same time. By doing this your device will be identified as “Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008” in Device manager.
3. Start MiFlash, press “Refresh” and your device should appear in the “COM” list.
4. Locate the ROM archive, enable “Clean all and lock” and press “Flash”.
5. After flashing is completed disconnect the battery for a few second again and check if your device boot into system now. If everything is ok then turn it off, gather everything together and reboot into system.

How to boot Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition in EDL mode:

1. Open “Settings”.
2. Find “Developer options”.
3. Enable “adb debug”.
4. Open terminal window on PC (make sure you’ve installed all required adb drivers) and type “adb reboot edl“.
5. Your phone will reboot in download mode (*edl mode) and now you can flash any ROM using miflash tool.

How to restore hardbricked Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition

1. Press and hold volume plus, volume down and power button at the same time.
2. Connect your device to PC.
3. Wait until Mi logo appears and release power button (keep holding both volume buttons).
4. Your device should be identified as com diagnostic 900e in device manager.

How to enter download mode and unbrick Redmi 4A with Testpoint

With the closure testpoint connect your device to PC via USB and your Redmi 4A will boot in EDL mode 9008 port.

1. Open “Device Manager” on your PC.
2. Disassemble your device (watch youtube video).
3. Remove the battery.
4. Find the testpoint.
5. Connect two test points together.
6. Now connect your device to PC via USB cable (use only rear USB ports on desktop PC).
7. Open test points again and insert the battery.
8. Your device should be now recognized and shown in “Device Manager” as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008.
9. Now download Global ROM for Xiaomi Redmi 4A and flash via MiFlash tool.

How to reboot Redmi 4 Prime in Download Mode (EDL)

You can enter download mode on your turned off Redmi 4 Prime just like on other Redmi devices. This is the most easiest way on how to boot in EDL and it works if there’s nothing wrong with your Redmi smartphone.

1. Press and hold “volume up” + power button;
