<p>Big thanks to Xiaomi for starting the development on Mi Flash Pro, this is a revolution in modifying, flashing and bootloader unlocking. In addition Mi Flash Pro is a universal tool for both MTK and Qualcomm devices. Comes with inbuilt SP FlashTool and Mi Flash software.</p>
<p>In order to use MiFlashPro with it&#8217;s full power you must have Mi account.</p>

<h2>Step-by-step guide on how to flash MIUI ROM on Redmi 4A</h2>
<h3>First steps and required drivers for Redmi 4A</h3>
<ol>
<li>Download and install <a href="https://xiaomifirmware.com/download/2617/"><strong>ADB Driver Lite</strong></a></li>
<li>TWRP Recovery.</li>
<li>SuperSU for root <em>(optionally)</em></li>
<li>ADB/Fastboot utilities</li>
<li>Downloaded ROM .zip file for recovery.</li>
</ol>

<h3>How to backup your Redmi 4A device</h3>
<p>There are many ways on how you can backup Xiaomi Redmi 4A device. We are going to describe one below.</p>
<p>To backup contacts, SMS, calls, calendar and etc. you can use Super Backup SMS &amp; Contacts application. Root is not required. You can download it from Play Market.</p>
<h3>Flash Redmi 4A via Recovery</h3>
<ol>
<li>Enable developer options. Open &#8220;Settings&#8221; &gt; &#8220;About&#8221; &gt; and tap 7 times on &#8220;MIUI version&#8221; until you&#8217;ll see notification that you&#8217;re now a developer.</li>
<li>Now go to &#8220;Settings&#8221; &gt; &#8220;System&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Additional settings&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Developer options&#8221; and enable &#8220;OEM Unlock&#8221; and &#8220;USB Debugging&#8221;.</li>
<li>Turn your device in fastboot mode. Turn off, then press &#8220;Volume Down&#8221; + &#8220;Power&#8221; buttons at the same time, release the buttons after short vibration signal and wait until fastboot logo appears.</li>
<li>Connect your device to PC.</li>
<li>Check the Xiaomi Redmi 4A bootloader status via ADB tools. If the bootloader is locked, request official unlock permission and unlock Redmi 4A with Mi Unlock tool. If you&#8217;ve got unlocked bootloader, continue to the next step.</li>
<li>Now flash TWRP Custom Recovery. Download <strong><a href="https://xiaomifirmware.com/download/3378/">Redmi4a.zip</a> </strong>archive, unpack and run <i>Flash-TWRP.bat. </i>Follow instructions on the screen. If everything was done correctly, your device will automatically reboot into TWRP Custom Recovery. In TWRP, you&#8217;ll probably need to change language to English.
<ul>
<li>Press the second button on the third line to enter TWRP settings &gt; Press the globe icon &gt; Change language to English.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Disconnect your device from PC.</li>
<li>Boot into TWRP Custom Recovery again.</li>
<li>Go to &#8220;Wipe&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Advanced&#8221; and select all partitions, except Micro SD Card.</li>
<li>Reboot into recovery.</li>
<li>Install downloaded ROM version. Go to &#8220;Install&#8221; &gt; select ROM .zip file. In case you want to enable root, also install SuperSU. Swipe to confirm. Wait until installation is completed.</li>
<li>Reboot into system. First startup will take longer than usual.</li>
</ol>

<li>Download required recovery version and rename the downloaded file into <strong>recovery.img</strong></li>
<li>Go to the folder with unpacked ADB / fastboot tools. Hold &#8220;Shift&#8221; key and right mouse click, select &#8220;Open command window here&#8221;.</li>
<li>In the opened command window enter the following command, to check if device connected successfully:

<li>Now we will be flashing recovery by typing this command:

<li>Turn off your device &gt; Press and hold &#8220;Power&#8221; and &#8220;Volume +&#8221; buttons at the same time.</li>
<li>After short vibration signal release the power button and wait for TWRP to start.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To boot in stock recovery open &#8220;Update&#8221; app.</li>
<li>In the setting select &#8220;Boot in recovery&#8221;.</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Follow these simple steps to flash TWRP on Redmi Pro and then install any custom ROM. This guide is working only on <span style="color: #008000;">unlocked bootloader</span> device. <h2>How to install TWRP recovery on Xiaomi Redmi Pro</h2>
<ol>
<li>Start your Redmi Pro in <span style="color: #0000ff;">fastboot mode</span></li>
<li>Connect to PC via USB-cable.</li>
<li>Run <strong>flash_TWRP.bat</strong> from TWRP folder <em>(download link below)</em>.</li>
<li>Reboot in TWRP recovery.</li>
<li>To change language from Chinese press the right button with Chinese symbols.</li>
<li><span style="color: #ff0000;">Pay attention! </span>Before installing any Custom ROM you need to prepare the partitions or you&#8217;ll get bootloop or stuck at Mi logo.</li>
<li>Format <strong>&#8220;data&#8221;</strong> partition.</li>
<li>Then wipe &#8220;cache&#8221;, &#8220;dalvik&#8221; and &#8220;internal storage&#8221;.</li>
<li>Also you can format &#8220;system&#8221; partition.</li>
<li>After all required wipes and formats reboot in TWRP recovery again to install any custom ROM.</li>
</ol>
<h3>Installing Custom ROM on Redmi Pro via TWRP recovery</h3>
<ol>
<li>Reboot in TWRP recovery.</li>
<li>Go to <strong>&#8220;Mount&#8221;</strong> menu.</li>
<li>Disable and enable MTP.</li>
<li>Connect your device to PC via USB-cable and move downloaded ROM .zip file to phone internal storage.</li>
<li>Now install .zip ROM file from /sdcard. Then reboot in TWRP recovery and flash again for the second time.</li>
<li>Reboot to the system without wipes. First startup will take around 5 minutes.</li>
<li>We&#8217;ve got device with &#8220;DATA&#8221; partition formatted, cleared &#8220;Cache&#8221;, &#8220;Dalvik-Cache&#8221; and flashed &#8220;system&#8221; partition.</li>

<li>Make backup of your personal data <em>(recommended, but not required).</em></li>
<li>Copy download ROM archive to phone internal memory.</li>
<li>Start your device in TWRP recovery mode.</li>
<li>Press <strong>&#8220;Wipe&#8221;</strong> &gt; <strong>&#8220;Advanced&#8221;</strong> and select <strong>&#8220;dalvik&#8221;</strong>, <strong>&#8220;system&#8221;</strong>, <strong>&#8220;cache&#8221;</strong> and <strong>&#8220;data&#8221;</strong> and continue with installation.</li>
<li>After installation clear <strong>&#8220;Cache&#8221;</strong> and <strong>&#8220;Dalvik&#8221;</strong>.</li>
<li>First startup will take around 10-20 minutes.</li>
</ol>

<li>In the <strong>&#8220;Scatter-loading File&#8221;</strong> field, specify the path to the <strong>&#8220;MT6797_Android_scatter.txt&#8221;</strong> scatter file. It is located in the<strong> &#8220;images&#8221;</strong> folder of downloaded recovery ROM. In the drop-down menu select <strong>&#8220;Download Only&#8221;</strong>.</li>
<li>Remove all the checkboxes.</li>
<li>In field <strong>&#8220;recovery&#8221;</strong> click on the <strong>&#8220;Location&#8221;</strong> and select our <strong>recovery.img</strong>.</li>
<li>Make sure you&#8217;ve removed all the checkboxes and selected only &#8220;recovery&#8221; and the mode is &#8220;Download Only&#8221;.</li>
<li>If everything is correct press &#8220;Download&#8221; button.</li>
<li>Now turn off your smartphone and connect it via USB cable to your PC.</li>
<li>Right after you connect your device, progress bar in the bottom of the screen will turn <span style="color: #ff0000;">red</span>, and then <span style="color: #ffcc00;">yellow</span>.</li>
<li>After about 5 seconds <span style="color: #339966;"><strong>&#8220;Download OK&#8221;</strong></span> window should appear.</li>
<li>Disconnect your smartphone from PC.</li>
<li>Hold the<em> &#8220;volume up&#8221;</em> button and <em>&#8220;power button&#8221;</em> at the same time. After vibration signal, release the power button and continue to hold the <em>&#8220;volume up&#8221;</em>. After a few seconds device will boot into just flashed recovery.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Few notes:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>It&#8217;s recommended to use stock-kit USB-cable, or other high-quality cable.</li>
<li>Use rear USB ports.</li>
<li>Recommended SP Flash Tool version is 5.1620.</li>
