We waited quietly and finally we get it. The latest version of official MIUI9 Global ROM for Xiaomi Redmi 4X (santoni) is now available for download and update via OTA. I’ve just updated my own device yesterday and here’s my opinion and short review. If you’ve haven’t yet received an OTA you can download the latest ROM version by the link below.

What really pleased me is that now unread Gmail messages are displayed with all additional information including message subject. This feature was missing in 9.1.1.0 ROM version and I’m very happy that it’s back it the 9.2.3.0. As for battery life I didn’t yet noticed is it better than it was on the previous version. There was many complaints about battery life on 9.1.1.0, so share your thoughts in the comment below. What do you think, did the new version bring any improvements?
The 9.2.3.0 MIUI ROM also includes few new applications. These are “Mi Video” and “Mi Mover” applications. The “Mi Video”, as one can understand from the title, is an video viewing application and “Mi Mover” is a very convenient backup tool.
There are a lot of bug-fixes and performance optimization, especially regarding MIUI themes. You can check the full list of changes in the official change-log.
