Install TWRP Custom Recovery & Root POCO F2 Pro / Redmi K30 Pro

First of all and most important step here is to enable text password lock on your phone and enable USB debugging.

1. Download the misc.bin file & TWRP 3.4.2b version for Poco F2 Pro and move both files to same folder with platform-tools.
   1. Rename downloaded TWRP .img file to just twrp.img to make things easier in the next steps.
2. Start your smartphone in fastboot mode and open command prompt on your Windows OS PC.
3. Now enter the following commands in the same order:
   1. fastboot devices (to check if your device is successfully connected to your PC).
   2. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
   3. fastboot flash misc misc.bin
   4. fastboot boot twrp.img
4. Your phone should now reboot into TWRP and will request the text lock password, enter the password that you’ve setup previously and now /data partition should be decrypted and we can continue using the TWRP Custom Recovery.
5. Go to Reboot > System and proceed with reboot to the system.
6. It could be that TWRP will be removed on the first boot into the system. In this case, you just need to flash it again, but this time don’t use the following command: “fastboot boot twrp.img” and manually reboot into TWRP by pressing Volume Up + Power buttons at the same time.
7. Now, the final step is installing the Magisk.
8. Copy the Magisk.zip file into the phone internal memory, boot into TWRP and flash Magisk.
9. After installation reboot into system.
10. You’ve Magisk installed and working.

Magisk Root for Redmi 9 Android Device

We’ll keep this guide short, so I believe you already know how to use Fastboot & ADB tools. If the answer is yes, you can continue, otherwise get some knowledge in the web. Next you’ll need to make sure that you have unlocked device. This requires you to make an request, wait for an answer (usually takes around a week or so), then you’ll need to wipe your device and finally, it’s unlocked!

1. Let’s boot in the fastboot mode (turn off your device and then use “Power” button and “Volume Down” at the same time).
2. Install required drivers and ADB / fastboot tools (you can find download links in the first part of the article).
   • How to use ADB / fastboot?
     • ADB / fastboot is basically a console utility, so we’ll need to use them from the command line.
     • Download and unpack the archive, open the folder with unpacked files, tap on the address bar, where’s the path of the folder, type (without quotes) and press Enter.
     • Terminal window will open. Now proceed using the ADB tools with required commands.
3. Download and put vbmeta & magisk_patched.img files into the same folder with ADB.
4. First we’ll patch the vbmeta file.
   • vbmeta – Is a special partition which contains digital signatures to prevent the bootloader from running any third-party app and is responsible for different integrity checks.
5. Connect your device in fastboot mode and check if it’s identified with the following command: “Fastboot devices” in terminal window.
6. Next enter the following command:
   • fastboot –disable-verity –disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
7. Then use the Magisk patched boot.img file:
   1. fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
8. Reboot your device in the normal state, download & install Magisk tool.
9. You should now have root enabled on your device.

6. After you’ve downloaded the correct patched boot image, rename it to boot.img and move to the same folder with recovery.img.
7. Download Magisk – Magisk-v19.3.zip and optionally download “no-verity-encrypt-ysl.zip” to encrypt data partition and move these to phone internal memory.
8. Turn off your device.
   • Start into fastboot mode.Turn off your device, press “Volume Down” and “Power” buttons at the same time until Fastboot logo appears on the screen.
9. Connect your device to PC using stock USB cable.
10. Download and install ADB Driver.
11. Press and hold “Volume Up” button on your device.
12. On your PC open the folder with recovery.img and boot.img and start the install.bat file.
13. Your device will automatically reboot into TWRP. You’ll see something like “Unmodified System Partition” continue by “Swipe to allow modifications”.
14. Proceed with “data” format partition, by going into “Wipe” menu > “Format Data” > “yes”.
    1. Optionally you can decrypt the “data” partition. In this case you’ll have decrypted Data partition, which means that you won’t be able to add face unlock, graphic key or lock code.
    2. In Recovery main menu select “Install” > “SD Card” and locate previously copied “no-verity-encrypt-ysl.zip” file.
    3. Install this archive.
15. To enable “root” > In the TWRP Custom Recovery main menu select “Install” > SD Card > and locate the archive with Magisk. Proceed with installation.

11. Reboot into fastboot mode.
12. Connect your device via USB to PC. It’s highly recommended to use stock USB cable.
13. Download and install adbdriver.zip
14. Press and hold “Volume UP” button on your phone.
15. Open the C:\adb folder with recovery.img and boot.img files and start install.bat
16. Your phone will reboot into TWRP.
17. You’ll see “Unmodified System Partition”, proceed with “Swipe to Allow Modifications”.
18. Format data partition.
    1. Wipe > Format Data > Yes
19. Optionally you can encrypt data partition on your device. If you’ll proceed with data encryption, you won’t be able to use locking options including face lock on your phone.
    1. In TWRP, go to “Install” > SD Card and locate previously downloaded no-verity-encrypt-ysl.zip, continue flashing this patch.
    2. To enable ROOT: In recovery “Install” > SD Card and locate downloaded Magisk archive, flash to root.

Enable Android Pay on Xiaomi Mi Note 3

Let’s start with the method which should work on every ROM version:

1. Download the latest “Magisk – The Universal Systemless Interface“.
2. Download the following patch universal-safetynet-fix-v2-beta-5.zip and copy the archive together with previously downloaded Magisk app to phone internal memory root. Pay attention! In case you’re installing Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU, then you’ll need to extract boot.img file from your ROM and copy it to phone internal memory root as well.
3. Flash required ROM. If it comes without inbuilt root, skip the next step and go straight to the step 5. If you’re installing a Custom ROM with inbuilt SuperSU root, proceed to the step 4.
4. Let your device to startup for the first time and remove SuperSU, next boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and flash boot.img as a boot partition, so that later Magisk could patch it the right way.
5. Install Magisk-v14.0.zip via TWRP Custom Recovery, reboot into system, then reboot into TWRP once again and flash safetynet module this time.
6. Reboot into system.
7. Open Magisk Manager, go to “Modules” and check if “universalsafetynet” is enabled. Next check the “safetynet” status.
8. If everything was done correctly, then Android Pay should work perfectly fine right now. Don’t forget to visit additional settings and check if HCE security is enabled.
9. After you’ve installed any bank or payment application don’t forget to hide root and enable “MagiskHide” option for these apps.

How to fix not working Android Pay on Mi Note 3 Stock ROM

Here’s a method on how you can activate Android Pay straight out the box on both Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi Note 3 with stock MIUI9 ROM installed.

To make Android Pay work, try following the steps below:

1. Delete your card from Android Pay.
2. Clean all passwords.
3. Reboot your device.
4. Attach your credit card to Android Pay once again.
5. Setup new passwords for everything.
6. Change “HSE Wallet” to any other option, and then return back to “HSE”.
7. Add Android Pay application for auto-start.

How to fix Android Pay on Mi Note 3 Custom ROM

It’s recommended to do this right after you’ve installed the Custom ROM.

1. Boot into TWRP Custom Recovery and flash Magisk-v14.0.zip
2. Reboot into system.
3. Update MagiskManager to the latest version.
4. Reboot into recovery and install universal-safetynet-fix-v1.10.1.zip.
5. Reboot into system and go to “MagiskManager“.
6. Check “safetynet”, you should see two green arrow icons.
7. Install Android Pay and proceed with registration.
8. Add you credit card.
9. That’s it. Android Pay should work fine right now.

How to fix SafetyNet on Redmi Note 3 Pro

1. Flash Nitrogen: Nitrogen_kenzo_UNROOT.zip
2. Install Magisk Manager.
3. Now using the Magisk Manager download the Magisk-v12.0.zip archive and install it via TWRP Custom Recovery.
4. In Magisk settings enable “Magisk Hide” and disable “Turn on BusyBox”.
5. To hide root from some apps, open “Magisk Manager” > Go to “Magisk Hide” and select required applications.

If this method didn’t worked, then try to download and install Xiaomi SafetyNet Fix via TWRP Custom Recovery. Also you can try installing another version of SafetyNet Fix module, this is version for Mi5, but will also work on Redmi Note 3 Pro.

Now, if the SafetyNet verification passes successfully, but some applications are still getting blocked, then may be changes to “build.prop” could help. You may try changing the parameter “ro.build.tags”. Change the value from “test-keys” to “release-keys”.

4. Reboot into system.
5. Run “Magisk Manager” and check “Safety Net”.
   • If verification goes wrong, check for updated fix here.
6. Go to MIUI settings: Open “Settings” > “Additional” > “NFC” > Enable “HCE wallet”.
