How to fix slow download speed in Google Play on Xiaomi Mi5

It seems like this bug is appeared on MIUI 7.5.3.0 and newer version. Solution is to use DownloadProvider app from xiaomi.eu localized 7.5.2.0 ROM.

  1. Delete data from “Download manager” application.
  2. Backup “DownloadProvider” folder from “/system/priv-app”.
  3. Replace the “DownloadProviderUi.apk” file from the archive below.
  4. Don’t forget to set required permissions (-rw-r–r–).
  5. Reboot your device.

If the issue still persist or you get error when opening “Downloads” app, then try this:

  1. Delete data from “Downloads” application.
  2. Backup “DownloadProviderUi” folder from “/system/priv-app”.
  3. Replace the “DownloadProviderUi.apk” file from the archive below.
  4. Don’t forget to set required permissions (-rw-r–r–).
  5. Reboot your device.

This solution is working not only on Global ROM, but also on MIUI Developer ROM versions. But keep in mind that this fix is working perfectly on xiaomi.eu ROM versions, but in some Custom ROM which are based on MIUI China versions, the Xunlei feature will still remain, this will not affect the download speed, but you’ll see a notifications that Xunlei is turned off.
